Giovanni Sollima – Sogno ad Occhi Aperti (Daydream) PART 2

In part two of Sogno ad Occhi Aperti (Daydream), cellist Giovanni Sollima has awaken in the woods and is looking around. He decides to light a smoke and starts waking around, looking around curiously. He then starts turning around as if he’s getting dizzy and maybe a little disoriented…maybe… and he looks down and there’s a cello in his hand. He finds a bow at his side and looks the instruments over and a seat appears, so he starts playing…playing like a madman. It’s pretty impressive. He plays so quickly that you’d expect the instrument to light on fire, but it doesn’t :) He plays this part of the piece with some impressive hammer-on, hammer-offs and some long drawn out notes over top. The video camera switching positions quickly. This video and the music draws you in. Check it out!

P.S. This video was filmed and produced by Lasse Gjertsen.
